Jettermane # 12

Arie watched in terrified fascination as the Lady of Darknezz landed in the shuttle bay, being a warrior class scouting ship it was small enough to land without problems. He just hoped that his kin didn’t hurt the wonderful beings that had helped him escape from his past nightmare – even if he did wait and wonder if they would change and treat him like the Clandyke Sect had. The more he got to know them the more he realised they were just a peaceful race who were in search of help for their dying out race. The one hundred and ten beings aboard this ship were all that were left of the system they had once ruled over. And for the past two months they had been stuck in orbit above the Ximinex home world.

Arie’s gut twisted at the fear of being rejected once his mates found out all he had been through. Though he was also worried as to why Emilian couldn’t remember him… What had been done to his lover that could wipe it all from his mind? He also needed to find out if Emilian’s memory would come back so he could remember the love they had shared.

As the Lady of Darknezz doors opened he panicked – should he stay here and wait, or run back to his cabin and stay there until they come for him?

“Relax, Little One, your men will want you regardless of what has been done to you. They will see you as brave for having endured.”

“How do you know?” Arie fretted.

“Because my gift is to see into the hearts of others, I see what they truly believe no matter what their words may be.” There are two men aboard that ship who are desperate to get you in their arms.” Alexi said in assurance.

“But Buska doesn’t remember me. What if he never remembers me?” Arie knew he was grasping at the negative, but it was so hard to think of the positive when your body and mind have been abused and knocked down so many times. He desperately needed the reassurance and love of his men – his husbands.

His heart fluttered as he got his first glimpse of the two people he had missed most in the last six months. He could finally breathe and go on when Tangen’s face lit up when their gazes met. Tangen raced toward him and all Arie could do was brace himself as Tangen swooped him up into his arms. Arie’s tears fell as he laid his check against Tangen’s broad chest. He felt safe now that he was wrapped in his lover’s arms – well one of his lovers – Emilian, his Buska stood back – apprehension written all over his face. Arie held out his arm and sighed in relief as Emilian closed the distance and joined in their hug. Now his soul could rest easy.

**~*~**

Jettermane stepped across the threshold and walked down the ramp heading toward the group of people who stood there. At the bottom of the ramp he stepped to the side and bowed in the direction of the man he had spoken to over the vid screen. The man was even more beautiful in person. A smile came to Jett’s lips when he heard a sharp intake of breath behind him. The smell of arousal coming off Geven Piercer was on the verge of being overpowering. It even masked the scents coming off of Tangen, Emil and Arie. His smile broadened when he looked into the eyes of the man he had spoken to earlier and saw the surprise as he recognised just who Geven was to him.

“My name is Jettermane Alexandro, Xerx the Patraious Coven, and this is my husband Blayze, Renegade, Dunaiden the fourteenth; King of Ximinex, and true ruling monarch of the Patraious Coven.” Jettermane sensed Blayze bowed beside him.

“My name is Raineo Ulrick, Prince, and heir apparent of the Faeo System, or what is left of that system.”

Jettermane tilted his head to the side and stared at the man before him. “You came to us seeking aid and due to unforeseen circumstances you found the wrong coven to speak with. Though I can honestly say that it was fate which sent you there so you could rescue Arie and return him to us.”

Raineo nodded, and Jettermane nudged him a little more. “My people owe you a debt of gratitude for returning what was stolen away from us. We can give you almost everything you want except the right to rule. You may lead your men, but Blayze is King of Ximinex. You can even keep your title – are you willing to stay knowing you will never be king?”

Ranieo sighed, “In all truth I did not want to rule our people I am/was sixth in line of the ruling family. I was happy being the son who led the forces out on scouting missions. It seems fate had another destiny set out for me. In the space of two years ninety-nine percent of our population has died out with no clear reason and no chance of recovery. The last living members of our race are now aboard this vessel. We are a dying species in search of a race to take us in. We don’t do so well when there are so few of us. We need to search out more men to find mates among.”

“What’s going on?” Blayze leaned down and whispered into his ear.

“You are looking at the new members of the Patraious Coven. These being are ours to protect now just as they protected one of our own.” He smiled when he realised Blayze wasn’t going to fight him in this. It made him wonder if their life had been like this right from the beginning, or whether this was a recent addition. Going by the looks on their warriors faces it was nothing new for Jettermane to take over.

Blayze stepped forward and held out his hand. “Welcome, brother. You and your men will make a welcome addition to our Coven.”

“Thank you.”
