“What the fuck,
Seriously?” blaze stood there like a complete and utter moron staring at the
man before him. He hadn’t even realised he had spoken out loud until Jettermane
spoke beside him
“Seriously.”
The hand
Jettermane wrapped around his bicep squeezed gently and in that moment Blayze
could feel the waves of nervousness and maybe just a touch of fear coming of
the man who was now standing and watching them both. “How long have you known
about this, Jetter?”
“The moment I
opened communications with their ship, I sensed him there. I don’t know how I
know these things, seeing as I still can’t remember everything about my past. I
just know we need them just as much as they need us. With each new generation
born more of their powers will be passed down through our descendants to join
with our own. We will create a whole new race of beings.”
“Um, Jetter we
are all male how can we reproduce?” There was obviously something Blayze wasn’t
getting, as far as he knew you needed both a male and a female to have
children. Jetter didn’t say anything so their other mate took a step closer and
spoke softly.
“Among our
species we have come up with a way for us to survive and carry on our lineage.
The Faeo are an all male species, we have a method of incubation that will
combine our DNA matter to create a child, which will be born male.” He said
matter of factly.
His voice dazed
Blayze slightly it was so deep and rough, so many emotions flowed through it
and called out to Blayze. He couldn’t stop himself from reaching out and
cupping the young man’s cheek gently. “What is your name?”
“Alexi, Alexi
Pommeraine. I am the first mate and medical officer on board the Lady Darknezz.
I know I will no longer be that on board your vessel, and I am okay with that.
I am not sure exactly what my role will be among your people as you already
have a Xerx.” A look of sadness so profound flooded his eyes and Blayze didn’t
hesitate to pull Alexi into his arms and offer comfort.
Jettermane’s
gaze locked to his as his Jetter leaned up against their mates back cocooning
him in their warmth. “I will always be the Xerx of our people, which was a
mantle given to me on the day of our mating. This leaves you as the Xessan –
the one who is able to heal our hurts and bind us forever more.”
Blayze was
shocked that Jettermane had recalled that name there hadn’t been a Xessan among
their kind in over five millennia or more. It was a very rare and coveted
position to hold. Many had claimed the title and had been proven to be invalid
of such a title. To have Jettermane announce it out loud he knew in his heart
it to be true. Leaning forward he pressed a gentle kiss to the side of Alexi’s
neck, and Jettermane mirrored his action.
**~*~**
Relief at being
accepted and wanted washed over Alexi. His kind had stayed clear of him, for
the most part and he had no clue why. It wasn’t as if the shunned him, they
just avoided him if they could. He had once in a moment of weakness asked Raineo
why? And he had simply stated Alexi was destined for greater things and the
other’s new it. The answer didn’t really clear things up because he still
wished he at least had a true friend amongst his own kind. He didn’t doubt
Raineo, because Raineo’s gift was the gift of knowing a person’s future. Not
the moment of death type of knowing – more the small things which would set
your destiny in place.
The heat
surrounding him was welcomed, and he felt his body reacting in a way which it
never had before. He needed them to step away or they were going to realise
what was happening and push him away. The thought was crazy and he knew it, he
just wished his gift worked on his mates, so he could read what was in their
hearts. Once he was certain of their true feelings he would be able to give
himself over to them both fully.
“My Xessan, my
mate.” The timbre of Blayze’s voice had a soothing effect on him.
“Our Xessan,
our mate.” Came from behind him and he felt Blayze jump as a little arm snaked
around him and pinched Blayze on the side.
Laughter
rumbled out of Blayze. “Always ours.”
“You better
believe it buddy,” Jettermane said as he stepped away and Alexi almost
protested the loss of his heat. He was slightly shocked when Jettermane laced
their fingers and turned toward the rest of their combined crews. “Okay
gentlemen, who among us knows how to get this ship running. We need to get home
and take back our planet from…” he turned to Blayze. “Who are we fighting
again?”
“Your uncle’s
sect. They will be even more vengeful when they realise we killed their crew
back on Earth and left their bodies floating in the middle of nowhere. Far
enough away they will never be able to recover their kin and the ship is hidden
on a planet in case it is needed in to future.” Blayze sighed when shock
registered all over Jettermane’s face.
Alexi’s thumb
began rubbing soothing circles on the back of Jettermane’s hand willing some of
his power into the beautiful man. Jettermane’s mouth opened and closed many
times before his voice could make itself be heard.
“Is this
because I killed my uncle? Are we at war because of what I did?”
Jettermane
turned slowly still holding their hands so that in the end Alexi was almost
wrapped around his body. He could feel the tremble running through the man in
his arms. “Are our people dying because of me?” Alexi prayed it wasn’t true.
“No!” nearly
all of the vampire cried out at once.
“Jetter, The
war started long before you killed your uncle. His sect has always been the
very worst of our kind.”
“Tell me the
truth. Are our people dying because of me?”
Oh, yet again so good Norma! I love your stories!
